This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
This diploma program focuses on preparing you to work in accounting and payroll positions in a wide variety businesses and industries. It gives graduates a solid theoretical and practical foundation in the application of current industry tools, procedures, processes, and practices, including accepted accounting principles used in recording, summarizing, and reporting financial information.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Mature student status ( British Columbia 19 years old and plus)

- IELTS: 5.5 (or better)
- TOEFL (paper): 520 (or better)

- Pearson English Placement Test at the Intermediate level

This course provides students with a variety of student centric learning strategies and techniques. Students will learn goal setting, planning and time management, problem solving, writing skills, computer skills, and the effective use of information technologies.
In this course students will be introduced to and learn how to apply the fundamental tools and features of Microsoft Word.
This course is designed to introduce students to all of the key features and basic functions of Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to organize, manage, and share information, create and use formulas and functions and learn the fundamental data analysis techniques.
Effective and efficient administrative office procedures are essential to the success of any organization. In this course students will be introduced to the basic requirements and workflow of a professionally organized and managed office.

This course introduces students to the generally accepted accounting principles, processes, and practices used in constructing financial statements, collecting, recording, analyzing, summarizing, and reporting financial information as used in a wide variety of business contexts including analyzing, summarizing and reporting financial information as used in a wide variety of business contexts including cash flow, receivables, and payables.
Building on Bookkeeping & Financial Accounting I students will be introduced to advancing accounting principles, cost of sales, inventory management, valuation/devaluation of fixed and intangible assets.
Students will learn to integrate and apply the fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices in an integrated computerized environment.
Building on Computer Accounting I students will learn to integrate and apply advanced bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices in an integrated computerized accounting environment.
This course introduces students to the broad cross section of both federal and provincial payroll legislation across the country, how it applies to businesses of any size, business compliance responsibilities, and the outcomes and consequences of noncompliance. A detailed examination will be made of the Canada Pension Plan framework, and employment insurance, income tax, and employment standards legislation.
The course introduces students to the fundamental skills and practices that will allow them to communicate and explain the policies and procedures with respect to employee remuneration and calculate regular and non-regular employment payments, termination payments, and when required a Record of Employment.
Building on Payroll Fundamentals I students will learn to calculate organizational remittances to federal, provincial and third-party stakeholders, prepare accounting documentation for payroll, complete year end documentation and effectively communicate all aspects of business remittances, accounting and year end requirements to internal, external and government stakeholders.
Building on Computer Accounting II students will learn to integrate and apply bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices previously acquired, to a popular industry accounting software application.
This course introduces students to human resource recruitment, compensation, performance analysis, environmental and safety practices. Students will analyze contemporary issues that have an impact on the way businesses manage their organizations and employees.
This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to prepare, complete, and submit income tax returns for Canadians.
This mandatory course provides students with the opportunity to apply theory to practice in a real-world work setting.
This course focuses on providing students with interviewing skills and the tools and techniques to develop, enhance and maintain a positive goal-oriented portfolio of professional career information using available technologies, while also focusing on how to effectively manage their online profiles to create employment opportunities.

APPLICATION FEES
- International application fee: $250
- Application fees and assessment fees are non-refundable.
- Application fees are not transferrable. Students applying to a different program must pay the application fee again.
- Applications are withdrawn if an offer is rejected and the program applied to has started. To re-apply, a new application fee will be required.
