A historical perspective of the hospitality industry and explores all aspects of hotel operations. It addresses the increasing role of internet technology on hospitality operations, especially its role in creating and sustaining positive customer relations.
Best practices in employee management, including on-boarding, training, motivation, and effective conflict management.
The potential positive and negative effects of social media are explored as well as the role of a variety of emerging technologies in managing day to day operations.
A systematic approach to front office procedures by detailing the flow of business through a hotel, from the reservations processes to check-out and account settlement.
Examine the various elements of effective front office management, paying attention to the planning and evaluation of front office operations and to human resources management.
This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in hospitality sales and marketing focusing on practical sales techniques for selling to a wide variety of targeted markets.
This course will introduce students to the revenue management process. Differences between
tactical and strategic revenue management will be stressed and a wide variety of influential
factors will be considered in the efficient application of revenue management.
This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the convention and group business market. Students will learn marketing and sales strategies to attract markets with specific needs along with the techniques and strategies to meet those needs within the context of a meeting and convention service.
